Where will my session take place?

Your custom portrait session will take place at a location of your choosing. It is best if it takes place where you or child feels comfortable such as a park, beach or even in your own backyard. If you do not have a location in mind, I can suggest a few.

How about time?

Premium and Standard sessions generally take 1-2 hours or can be done in as little as 30 minutes. This is your custom portrait experience, and I strive to make it as comfortable as possible. When photographing small children or infants, I highly recommend scheduling a session on a day when you will not feel rushed. Try not to put too much pressure on them or require them to smile or act a certain way. I find the best photos are taken when least expected and when everyone has enough time to feel relaxed and get a little silly. Also, keep in mind and try to plan around your children's "happiest" times of the day. Mealtime and nap time are best avoided.

What to wear?

Clothing can be an integral part of making a wonderful photograph. I always like to see a child’s clothing reflect their personality so bring multiple outfits. I love bright colors, however, something simple and classically styled in a solid color also works well. I encourage you to bring your favorite hat, scarf, or knit sweater. Accessories can add wonderful detail to photographs. If being photographed in a group, try to keep a similar theme to your outfit choices, using like colors and styles. If you are unsure about clothing choices, feel free to bring multiple outfits, and I will be happy to guide you to which would work best for your session. Clothing changes are always welcome.

When will I see my portraits?

For a typical session you will receive an email with a link and password to your album within 1 week of your session. Special sessions may require longer processing time. Once albums are up, you will be able to share your photographs with your friends and family, order prints and files online.

Why do you offer digital images and offer reasonable print prices?

My job doesn’t just end after the click of the shutter. I spend a great deal of time working on your images after your session is over: cropping, changing coloring, and fixing imperfections in each photo. Because I invest so much time processing your photos, I want to be sure the photographs you take home at the end of the day fully reflect the finished image. That is why I always recommend to my customers to use my printing service. When digital files are printed at Costco, Walgreens, or Shutterfly, the finished print may not always reflect the true professional quality of the image.

As a photographer, I understand the desire to control and ensure the quality of my work. However, as a mom I find it frustrating when I cannot have access to the digital images for scrapbooks or other crafts. That is why I strive to give my customers the best of both worlds. My price structures offer the option to purchase digital images either in a package or individually, while at the same time offering reasonably priced prints from a professional lab on high-quality paper.
